We researched all the coatings out there and found out from our local shop that this is what they use to repair roofs. We thought it was gonna be more difficult then what it ended of being. If you can paint you can recoat your RV roof. This stuff is extremely strong and durable.

BEST INVESTEMENT
This is the best investment I could have made. Not only did it fix my leak near my vent it also greatly reduced the heat coming into my unit. It was a breeze to do and our roof looks brand new. Took about 5 hours from start to finish. Our RV is much cooler during these AZ summers.

MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE ROYALTY
The first night we slept on our new linen from Linenbundle, my husband woke me up on the middle of the night saying ”These are the softest sheets I have ever slept on”. As an airline pilot, he spends half his month sleeping in really good hotels, so that says a lot. Thank you for excellent service and an amazing product.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much do I need?
We recommend measuring your whole roof that coating will be applied to. For example is the roof is 30' x 9' that would be 270 Square feet. You then take the 270 / 50 to give you the total amount of gallons needed. So for this example that would be 4 Gallons. Each gallon covers approximately 50 square feet.
How do I prep the surface?
To prep the surface you first need to understand and know the surface you're cleaning. For example several RV roofs are different types of materials. Ranging from EPDM, TPO, Wood, Fiberglass, Foam, Metal, Aliuminum, PVC and more. Most will be prepped the same. However there is certain types that need specialized cleaning. First we will start with a basic powerwash this is applied to all roof types. Powerwash on low to medium pressure to remove all loose dirt and carbon. After drying apply Tough Tech Multi Purpose Primer. ATTENTION EPDM and TPO. EPDM and TPO require a specialized cleaner call rinse and wash primer. This is a cleaning solution that opens up the pours of the Rubber. It also primes the surface so you don't need to use a traditional multipurpose primer. Alway apply to a clean and dry surface, and use proper ventilation and protective gear.
Attention Lose laid EPDM
If you have a loose laid EPDM Rubber roof Tough Tech coatings solvent base formula can cause wrinkles and bubbles in the immediate short term after applying coating or primer. This is common and usually calm down after about 3 weeks of curing outside. If your concerned about this you might want to consider our waterbase brand Everbond which doesn't have the strength and stretch properties that Tough Tech has.
How Long for it to dry?
Tough Tech takes about 2 -4 hours to dry when applying in thin coats. We recommend thin coats when applying to reduce dry time. After coating is dry to touch or can be walked on you can start applying 2nd coating and on.
Can I paint over Tough Tech?
Tough Tech is Recoatable/paintable. Unlike silicones that if you put on your roof will require a complete tear off. Tough Tech can be applied over and over its self only adding to the strength of the coating.
What should I wear when applying?
You should wear old clothes that you don't mind ruining, eye protection and breathing ventilator, Because Tough Tech is a solvent base product beathing in fumes can result in respiratory issues light headedness please refer to our Safety Data sheet for more information.
What temperature should I apply it in?
Tough Tech works best when applied in a clean dry environment. Between the temps of 60 F - 90 F.
How long is dry time?
After each coating application the drytime will depend on weather conditions humidity and Temperatures applied in. However if applied in thin coats should take about 2 -4 hours for each coat. You can drive it after dry to the touch.
What if it rains?
You want to apply the coating durning a clear dry day with low humidity. However if unexpected rain comes. You want to make sure you cover the roof with a tarp not touching the roof. Tough Tech takes about 1 hour to start curing which as long as this process has started it will take rain and be ok. Before applying any other applications make sure the surface is dry and clean.

INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO APPLY
CLEAN AND APPLY PAINTER TAPE
Power wash and clean surface with soap and water. Tape off all areas that you do not want to get Tough Roof RV on such as vents, ac units using painters tape. Remove all loose sealant around all penetrations. Make sure your entire surface is clean and dry before proceeding to the next step( NOTE: Do not apply Tough Roof over old roof coatings like silicone or acrylics) Tough Roof RV is a professional grade liquid rubber and should be applied to the original surface membrane.
PRIME AND REPAIR
After surface is clean and dry we want to repair damage areas and around leak points like vents skylights ect. Apply tough tape over holes larger then 1/4" seams that are loose or cracks to membrane or penetrations. After Tough Tape Use Tough Primer over entire surface including newly applied Tough Tape Wait 2 hours for it to fully dry. Next Apply Sealant around roof penetrations and edges of Tough Tape. This will create build up in leak prone areas. Wait for it to be dry to the touch about 2 hours. ( NOTE Tough Repair should be about 1/8 thick after applied.)
APPLY TOUGH ROOF RV COATING
Finally apply Tough Roof RV over entire surface. Start at a courner and work your way back using smooth thin layers. Use all material for the correct thickness of 50 sq ft per gallon. which can take 2 to 3 passes to accomplish. (NOTE do not spread tough roof rv on to to thick bubbling can occur on loose laid epdm rubber if applied to thick. Bubbling is common with VOC based products over loose laid surfaces. However bubbling will reduce or disappear after three weeks of curing.)

I built a sloped duck enclosure using elevated grid flooring where the ducks sit. They poop and it falls through, and then I rinse it out and pump it away. I used OSB for the structure of this project, but as we all know, most OSB is no friend to moisture. I used this entire bucket to cover the main boards underneath everything. I put a thick tarp on top but the rubberized coating on the boards will hopefully keep them forever protected. I was pretty surprised how thin this was though. I had to do many many coats to use the entire bucket. But it seemed in the end to be thick enough and was definitely waterproof.
I used this for all my deck joists. I don’t k ow why ppl use joist tape. It costs SO MUCH money. This is the same thing and it is faster and cheaper. I used a paint brush to apply it. Threw it away when I finished. I painted 420 sq feet of deck joists. I did 3 coats. It dries fast. If you need to put it on thickly it will take a little longer to dry, but it will dry. There are no tacky areas at all. It isn’t messy-as in-it did not drip everywhere. It stays where you put it. It goes on super fast. What is everyone doing using joist tape?!!! That takes so long to do. Hahaha. If I would have used joist tape for my deck it would have cost over 300$. This cost me 50 bucks. I am a woman. A single mom. I am building my own deck by myself….and saving money is important bc I am a single income family. Even if I had the money for joist tape, I would not have used it. It takes too long to mess with. I painted all my joists in under 40 minutes for each coat. The first layer I put down was about 2 hours before a rain storm. It dried and the rain did not hurt it at all. It beaded right up. The next day I put the second coat on without any problems from the rain. I looked on so many sites to see if anyone else used this stuff for joists. On the big box store websites, if you look up similar products like this one, people ask questions and they get answers. I saw at least 6 people ask if they could use this for joists…and the answers were always vague. Like, they don’t want to say yes bc then you won’t buy their expensive tape. It’s the same stuff! Use this instead of tape. No…..it doesn’t drip everywhere and make a mess! That is user error: stop being messy!
I got this for the roof of an rv. I am pleased with it, but have only used it to do spots as opposed to the entire roof. The concern is that the black color, here in Texas, would raise the summer temperature inside the rv. Use a disposable brush, because this is not coming out.
I ordered liquid Rubbber hoping to repair pathchews on our roof which are leaking. One is around a skylight, and the other in an area where the roof is awkwardly angled (which we have had professionally repaired in the past). My husband was hesitant to use it in either application because the directions which came with the product said to use it on pristine surfaces. Given that our house is around 50 years old, and the repair close to 30 years, it can not be described as pristine. We decided to test it first on some (wood) raised beds I bought recently. Onr of the two beds had raw/ untreated wood, and the other has a light wash of sealant? In any case, he had a difficult time getting it to adhere. On the treated surface it peeled, and did not cover evenly. He is now on the third coat, but we can see very well that it does not take on a treated surface, even a very clean treated surface. I am hoping to be able to use it on our (copper) gueers, and the seal around a skylight. That is, hoping my husband is willing to try itr after what he saw testing it on 2 raised beds. Th3e roof and gutter are absolutely not pristine, nor as clean as either raised bed.Assukming that I can persuade my husband to get up on the roof to treat those areas, I will update my review to comment on hgow it works on less than p5ristine surfaces (tile and metal)
